Osseointegration, a critical part for predictable implant protocols

Posted .

“At Fairfield County Implants and Periodontics, we are proud to announce that we have acquired the new Osstell ISQ. This amazing device allows us to monitor osseointegration; a critical part for predictable restorative protocols. Using Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) technology, Osstell ISQ is the only objective, reliable and non-invasive way to monitor osseointegration. With the universal ISQ (Implant Stability Quotient) scale, we can measure initial mechanical stability and have a baseline value so a second measure can be done before loading to know when biologic stability (osseointegration) has been achieved.

If osseointegration is not proceeding as expected, we have a method of early detection of potential problems to avoid premature loading. Osstell ISQ helps us to reduce treatment time and manage at risk patients. The instrument measures lateral stability and micro-mobility using a SmartPeg that attaches to the implant with a probe that measures the ISQ value. The technique is very fast, easy and reliable, which will allow us to exceed our implant success rate of 98%.”
